Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church was organized on July 28, 1947 with seven charter members after revival services had been held in the Eastwood Addition in the city of Malvern. The first preaching service was held in the new building at the corner of Jefferson and Willow streets on November 30, 1947. Eld. G. F. C. Crane was the local missionary who began the church. Bro. H. Steve Thomas was the first pastor beginning his ministry here in January of 1948. Nine other men have served as pastor since that time.

Emmanuel Church has fellowshipped in the Saline Missionary Baptist Association, the State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches of Arkansas and the American Baptist Association since her organization. Through these past sixty-five years Emmanuel has contributed mission money to these various associational mission works, as well as taken the lead in sponsoring other mission works. Presently Emmanuel Baptist Church is the sponsor of a work in the city of Locust Grove, Georgia, located twenty-five miles south of Atlanta on I-75.
